The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) are proud to share the Business Award Winners, 2010. Winners were announced at a Long Table Canapés evening on Tuesday, August 24th. This year’s nominees were of the highest standards and came from businesses including IBM, the World Wildlife Fund, Flying Penguin and Out Travel.
The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Awards recognise and honour successful GLTB businesses and business people for their business achievement, positive workplace environment and continued community impact. The SGLBA Awards panel was overwhelmed with the calibre of the entries, and saw this as an indication of the level of achievement of gay and lesbian business owners, managers and professionals in Sydney. The awards recognise the work of professional, committed and driven members of the GLBT community, and are an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. The SGLBA congratulates the winners and all those who were nominated in 2010.

SGLBA President, Paul Lee-Maynard, believes that the awards promote diversity in the workplace and recognise achievement in the community, forging a stronger path forward for GLBT professionals. Lee-Maynard comments; “I believe that the SGLBA Business Awards encourage engagement within the community and go some way towards recognising the diverse range of skills, talent, creativity, energy and passion that we have within the GLBT community, and in particular of people in business, corporate and large organisations as well as those with entrepreneurial spirit. It is a privilege to recognise the 2010 winners of the SGLBA Business Awards”.
SGLBA Business Award winners are also nominated for the ACON Honour Awards to be held in September, where the winner will receive the Honour Business Award 2010. “Partnering with ACON and the Honour Awards works to strengthen relationships between our community groups, as well as marking a rite of passage for our community going forward” says Terry Preeo, Head of the SGLBA Business Awards Sub Committee.
